HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Hampton Police have arrested a suspect they say robbed four different stores five separate times in a matter of days.
Cpl. Mary Shackelford with the Hampton Police Division said officers were looking for a male suspect responsible for the robberies since Oct. 2. In each robbery, the suspect implied he had a handgun and demanded cash. He then fled on foot after obtaining an undisclosed amount of money.
The robberies have occurred as follows:
- Oct. 2, 8:31 p.m. – 7-Eleven located at 3800 Shell Rd.
- Oct. 8, 9:12 p.m. – 7-Eleven located at 2605 Kecoughtan Rd.
- Oct. 9, 2:47 a.m. – 7-Eleven located at 2605 Kecoughtan Rd.
- Oct. 9, 5:24 a.m. – 7-Eleven located at 900 Aberdeen Rd.
- Oct. 9, 7:51 a.m. – Miller Mart located at 2003 West Pembroke Rd.
The suspect was described as a black male standing 5’6” to 5’7” and weighing 170 to 190 pounds. He is believed to be in his late 20s to early 30s with close-cut hair. Shackelford said he was seen wearing a dark zip-up jacket in several of the robberies.
Crime Line tips led investigators to Kassim L. Davis, 35, of Hampton in connection to four of the robberies. Davis was arrested without incident Thursday and charged with four counts of robbery, four counts of burglary while armed, four counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and four counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Shackelford said police are still investigating the robbery at the Miller Mart on Oct. 9. Davis has not been charged in connection to that robbery. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
