RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The Virginia Department of Transportation is helping commuters locate park and ride lots throughout the state with a new website.
Gov. Bob McDonnell says the site features a user-friendly interactive map interface with lot locations, options, and accommodations. There are about 300 park and ride lots throughout Virginia.
A study completed earlier this year uncovered the need for an updated mapping tool.
The website uses a Google Map interface to help travelers locate a lot, determine the availability of transportation options at each lot, and obtain information on amenities and accommodations, such as bike racks or lockers.
The website is available at www.virginiadot.org/parkandride .
