VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A special needs woman from Virginia Beach was located after going missing Friday afternoon.
UPDATE: According to Virginia Beach Police, Mary Jackson was located around 3 a.m. Saturday by a rescue unit in the area of Virginia Beach Blvd. and Rosemont Rd. Ms. Jackson was transported to Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital and treated for low blood sugar. She was reunited with her family at the hospital.
A special needs woman from Virginia Beach is missing after leaving a doctor's appointment early Friday.
Adam Bernstein with the VBPD said 50-year-old Mary Jackson was last seen at a medical appointment on Republic Road Friday afternoon. She had been picked up from her home just before 1 p.m. by a taxi and was taken to the appointment, but left the appointment before her pick-up transportation arrived.
Bernstein said Jackson is a diabetic and mentally challenged and suffers from other medical conditions. She has not been heard from since her appointment.
Jackson was last seen wearing a pink shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
