SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Suffolk fire crews battled a garage fire on Evergreen Drive in Chuckatuck early Sunday morning.
Firefighters responded to the 100 block of Evergreen Drive around 1 a.m. Sunday after several 911 calls reported a garage on fire in the neighborhood.
Crews arrived on the scene and found heavy fire coming from an attached garage. Crews worked quickly and were able to limit damage to the home as well as keep the fire from spreading to a neighbor's garage that is nearby, according to a press release from the City of Suffolk.
No injuries were reported.
The garage, which housed the homeowner's car, was deemed a total loss. Since firefighters were able to contain the fire to the garage, the people who live in the home were not displaced.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
