PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Portsmouth Police are in search of man who did not appear in court Monday on a charge of murder.
26-year-old Jason Christopher McCoy is one of three individuals indicted in the 2005 shooting death of 28-year-old Terrace Wilson. McCoy became a fugitive because he failed to appear in Portsmouth Circuit and answer to charges related to Wilson's death.
Wilson was in his vehicle on Rodman Avenue June 20, 2005, when McCoy, Jamar Devon Riddick and Terry Termaine Bullock approached, wearing masks, and attempted to rob him. Before Wilson could drive away, one of the suspects shot and killed him.
The following investigation led to the February 2012 indictments of McCoy, Riddick and Bullock. Riddick and Bullock were convicted earlier this year.
Police say McCoy has connections in Portsmouth, Norfolk, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, and Charlotte, North Carolina.
McCoy should be considered dangerous, according to police.
If you see McCoy or know where he is, please call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
