NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Newport News police are seeking the identity of two suspects of a convenient store robbery last week and two additional individuals who have cashed lottery tickets stolen during the robbery.
Harold Eley with the Newport News Police Department said officers responded to the Tinee Giant at 12596 Warwick Blvd.Thursday around 11:50 p.m. for a report of a robbery. The store's clerk told police two masked men forced him behind the counter at gunpoint while one took cash from the register and the other stole lottery tickets, condoms and boxes of cigars.
When the suspects left, they ran toward the back of the store, according to the clerk.
Eley said surveillance video has captured three people cashing lottery tickets from the robbery since last week. One of the individuals has been identified by police, but the other two are still unknown.
The first suspect from the robbery is described as a black male, who is approximately 20 to 25 years old, stands about five feet ten inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He was wearing a black ski mask, black gloves, and black clothing while carrying a black handgun.
The second suspect from the robbery is described as a black male, who is approximately 18 to 19 years old, stands about five feet ten inches tall and weights about 170 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket that was pulled to cover his face and was wearing all black clothing.
