NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Police have launched a homicide investigation after a man was found shot to death in a Newport News boarding house early Tuesday morning.
The shooting occurred around 12:30 a.m. in the 2100 block of Chestnut Avenue, according to Holly McPherson with the Newport News Police Department.
A man was found in the hallway of a boarding house, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
McPherson identified the victim as Raymond Isaiah Seawright, 22, of Newport News. He did not live at the boarding house.
Police have not yet released any information on possible suspects. Officers interviewed several people who were inside the boarding house when investigators arrived.
