SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The mother of a 24-year-old Suffolk man shot in the face and killed spoke to WAVY.com Monday about how she will remember her son.
Angelo Fleming Beale was found in the area of 94 Stacey Drive off White Marsh Road during the early morning hours Sunday. Beale was taken to a Sentara Obici Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
"He left home and said he was hanging out and he'd be back but he never came back," Martina Beale told WAVY.com.
Neighbor Avonta Arrington lives close to the area where Angelo Beale was found injured.
"I heard the gunshots," Arrington said. "I heard arguing, fussing, hollering and screaming. I just ran into the first door I could get into because the gunshots were so loud. It seemed like it was inside of the house."
Arrington said after that, she came outside and saw Angelo Beale on the ground.
Beale said Angelo was the oldest of her 4 children.
"He was there for them and there for everybody," Martina Beale said.
She went on to say her son loved to play basketball and previously worked at local warehouses.
"He was a good son. He was really and truly a nice person. Now he has two hildren that are going to miss him," Martina Beale said.
