SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Firefighters kept a garage fire from spreading to a nearby home Sunday evening.
Firefighters responded to a report of a three-car garage on fire in the 100 block of Kings Point Drive at 6:23 p.m.
They arrived to find heavy fire showing from detached garage and threatening the two-story home. Spokeswoman Debbie George said fire crews worked aggressively to keep the fire from spreading to the house. Several windows of the home were broken due to radiant heat, she said.
The garage contained three vehicles and other equipment. The homeowner was able to remove one of three vehicles but the other two antique vehicles were totaled, George said.
One firefighter suffered minor injuries and was taken to Sentara Obici Hospital.
The cause of fire remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal's Office.
