CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Chesapeake fire crews battled a house fire in the 600 block of Luther Street in the Great Bridge section of the city Sunday.
Firefighters arrived on the scene of the fire around 10:30 a.m. to find the home engulfed in flames, according to a fire department spokesman.
Initial reports indicate the fire started in the home's garage and then spread to the rest of the house, according to a fire department spokesman.
One person who lives at the home was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury.
According to a fire department spokesman, wind helped the fire spread.
