SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The Suffolk Fire Marshal's Office has arrested a 27-year-old man in connection to several fires near his home.
Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk said Timothy Updike of the 6000 block of Meadowlot Lane was arrested and charged with three counts of arson and one count of threat to burn.
Officials say Updike was involved in the following fires in the Chuckatuck section of the city:
- Jan. 18 in the 140 block of Kings Highway
- Jan. 27 in the 6000 block of Meadlowlot Lane
- April 14 in the 120 block of Evergreen Lane
A fourth fire on Oct. 7, 2012 in the 6000 block of Meadowlot Lane remains under investigation.
"The Fire Marshal's office would like to thank the public for their assistance in providing information leading to an arrest in this case, and also reminds citizens to continually be the eyes and ears in their communities to assist law enforcement," Klink said in a release.
Updike is currently incarcerated at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
