HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Hampton Police need help finding a man police say shot a woman in the chest on Locust Avenue Sunday.
Sgt. Jason Price with the Hampton Police Division said officers were searching for Javon Antonio Parson, 19, of Hampton. Parson is wanted for one count of maiming and count of use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
Officers were dispatched to the first block of Locust Avenue just after 1 a.m. Sunday for a report of a weapon being brandished. While on the way, the call was upgraded to a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers found a 30-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Price said the victim was having a gathering at her home when two unknown people got into an altercation. One left the scene and later returned in a light sedan.
Parson is accused of shooting at the home, striking the victim.
