HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Hampton Police need help locating a suspect accused of gunning down a man July 27.
Cpl. Mary Shackelford with the Hampton Police Division said officers have developed Brandon Xavier Coles, 20, of Newport News as a suspect in the shooting death of Michael Lovelace.
Lovelace was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body around 1:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Milford Avenue . He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say Coles and Lovelace knew one another and were involved in a verbal altercations prior to the shooting.
Coles is wanted on charges of murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
