Thanksgiving closings for VB

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - The City of Virginia Beach will close several offices in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

The following facilities will close early Wednesday, Nov. 21 and will remain closed Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23:

• Chesapeake Bay Center at First Landing State Park
• Circuit Court
• General District Court
• Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court
• Juvenile Court Service Unit
• Court clerk’s offices
• Public schools and administrative offices
• Union Kempsville Museum
• Public Health Department

The following facilities will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23:

• All city offices
• All community recreation centers
• All city parks and park facilities
• Owl Creek Tennis Center
• All public libraries
• Virginia Beach Convention Center administrative offices
• Virginia Beach Farmers Market administrative offices, though some merchants may be open
• Visitor center at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel
• Visitor information center

The following facilities will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22 but will open for business on Friday, Nov. 23:

• Adam Thoroughgood House and Francis Land House
• Lynnhaven House
• Sandler Center for the Performing Arts
• Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center
• Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center
• Virginia Beach Farmers Market facilities
• Skipper Farms (closing at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22)
• The P.A. County Grill
• Creekmore’s Place
• Gilley’s Creamery
• Virginia Garden Organic Grocer
• Country Butcher and Deli
• Garden Box
• Chapman’s Flowers

Waste and recycling collections normally scheduled for Thursday will take place Saturday, Nov. 24. Collections scheduled for Friday will remain on normal schedule.

The City Landfill will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22 but will be open Friday from 7 a.m. to noon.
