Norfolk gears up for Grand Illumination

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The 28th Annual Grand Illumination Parade will kick off Saturday in Downtown Norfolk.

The parade begins at the corner of Main Street and St. Paul’s Boulevard at 7 p.m. and will follow up to Granby Street, Freemason Street and then down to Boush Street. The parade will then end at Waterside Drive and Water Street.

Pre-parade activities begin at 4 p.m. For a full list of activities, visit holidaysinthecity.net .

VIP reserved seats are $25 while general admission seats are $10. These street seats can be purchased at holidaysinthecity.net or in the Downtown Norfolk Council office at 201 Granby St. The seats are available along the parade route.

Visitors wanting to attend the pre-parade activities will be able to park in several city parking garages for just $1 between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. while a $2 rate will be collected at MacArthur center garages. After 5 p.m., city garages will collect a $5 parking rate.

Visitors are also encouraged to arrive for the parade by bus, ferry or the Tide.
