RICHMOND, Va. (WAVY) - Parents of children who wrote letters to Santa this season will be able to give their kids a letter back from Santa, thanks to the U.S.P.S.

According to Michele Martel, district manager for the U.S. Post Office in Richmond, the program is designed to fulfill the dreams of children by allowing parents to send a personalized and authentic response from Santa seemingly mailed all the way from the North Pole.

Martel says parents wishing to write a response from Santa to their children should follow these steps:

1. Write a letter to your child from Santa Claus and sign it, 'From Santa.'
2. Insert the letter into an envelope addressed to your child with the return address of: SANTA, NORTH POLE.
3. Place a First-Class Mail stamp to the envelope.
4. Place that envelope into a larger envelope, addressed to:
NORTH POLE POSTMARK
POSTMARK
4141 POSTMARK DR.
ANCHORAGE, AK 99530-9998

Parents should send the "Letters From Santa" no later than Dec. 10.
