VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach's Emergency Operations Center will continue to monitor the storm's progress until noon Friday, however the storm's threat has been significantly reduced. According to officials, tropical storm force winds are expected to end at around 11 a.m.

Evening activities at the Oceanfront are expected to go on as planned, according to the city's website. Officials will decide at around 4 p.m. whether or not to delay the start of tonight's concerts.

Strong waves and rip tides are still expected later this afternoon, however a tall sand berm is protecting the 5th Street main stage from the ocean.

Super Doppler 10 meteorologists say once the storm passes a sunny Labor Day weekend is expected.

All activities planned at the Oceanfront this weekend, including the American Music Festival and the Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon will go on as planned, city officials said.
