PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - As Hurricane Sandy approaches the east coast, some organizations are taking precautions by canceling weekend events in case of bad weather.

Below is the latest list of weather-related cancelations across the area:
NASA's Wallops Facility will be closed Monday, Oct. 29 except for pre-identified, essential personnel.
The Ghost Train has been canceled for Saturday, Oct. 27.
TRICARE Prime Clinics are closed.
The Criminal Superior Administrative Court Session scheduled to begin on Monday, Oct. 29 has been canceled. It will be rescheduled.
All recycling centers will close Sunday at 5 p.m. and remain closed Monday, Oct. 29.
Knotts Island Ferry will make no runs Sunday.
All ferry operations on the Hatteras Inlet route have been suspended due to high water over N.C.12 in Hatteras.
Emergency crews closed N.C. 12 near the Oregon Inlet Bridge due to sand and water on the roadway Sunday morning.
A Shred-a-Thon event scheduled for Saturday at Langley Federal Credit Union on West Mercury Boulevard in Hampton has been canceled. No makeup date has been announced at this time.
A Night at the Museum tour of the Hampton History Museum has been canceled for Oct. 29 only. Oct. 30 and Oct. 31 are still on schedule.

The Mariners' Museum in Newport News will be closed Sunday, Oct. 28 and Monday, Oct. 29.
All libraries will be closed Oct. 28.
