Sandbridge closely watching storm surge

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Storm surge from Hurricane Sandy is something residents in the Sandbridge area of Virginia Beach are watching closely.

    As of 9 a.m. Monday, Sandbridge Road is impassible due to high water from Hurricane Sandy.  Police, Fire and EMS personnel are on scene.  Please avoid this area until further notice.

    Just a reminder: Do not drive through standing water on any road. If you don’t have to drive today, don’t!
