Weather forces JRB work rescheduling

ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - Weekend work at the James River Bridge has been canceled due to inclement weather conditions.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, the work was scheduled to take place beginning Friday, Feb. 22 and end Monday, Feb. 25. The maintenance work has now been rescheduled for March 1 beginning at 9 p.m. and will conclude at 5 p.m. on March 4.
The left lane in each direction will be closed during the work while the right lanes will remain open.
Avoid the area if possible. An alternate route includes the Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel on Interstate 664.
