NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - A crash shut down the Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel Thursday afternoon.
Brooke Grow with the Virginia Department of Transportation reported all northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 664 at the bridge-tunnel were closed around 1 p.m.
Sgt. Michelle Anaya with Virginia State Police said the crash involved a tractor trailer and another vehicle.
The crash occurred in the southbound lanes, but northbound lanes were also closed so emergency vehicles could get to the crash scene. All lanes reopened by 2 p.m.
Further details surrounding the crash have not been released however, a picture sent to reportit@wavy.com showed one vehicle mangled.
