NOFORLK, Va. (WAVY) - He was the Orioles opening day starter, but Jake Arrieta got a demotion and will soon most likely start for the Tides. As of Saturday the Tides are two games above .500.
Who knows maybe the next pitcher to get called up for the Orioles will be pitcher Jason Berken. He was named an International League All-Star Saturday. Berken has 14 starts this season and 2.32 ERA which is third in International league play. He'll be joined by Tides reliever Miguel Socolovich who was signed as a free agent in the off season.
One guy who knows all too well about the ups and downs of the ball player, utility infielder Steve Tolleson. He spent the last two months up with Orioles where he played 17 games. Then just last week he was sent back down to play with the Tides.
As of Saturday Tolleson is back with the big club.
