LONDON (WAVY) - Virginia Beach's Gabby Douglas has one more shot at winning another medal when she competes in the individual gymnastics balance beam competition Tuesday. Douglas, dubbed the "Flying Squirrel" for how high she flies on the uneven bars, came up short in that individual event Monday.
Douglas ranked last among the field of eight competitors, with a final score of 14.900. Russia's Aliya Mustafina took home the gold medal in the event, He Kexin of China won silver, and Great Britain's Beth Tweddle received bronze.
Douglas has won two gold medals in London: one for the women's team competition and the other for her individual all-around performance. She will compete Tuesday morning in her final London Olympics appearance, when she takes to the balance beam.
Watch Douglas perform in the uneven bars competition during NBC Olympics prime time tonight on WAVY TV 10.
