ODU's Wilder named coach of the year

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Old Dominion University football head coach Bobby Wilder has been named FCS Football Fall 2012 CaptainU Coach of the Year.

ODU made the announcement on its sports website Monday.

“Wilder led the Monarchs to the best record in the CAA and finished the regular season ranked No. 3 in the national polls,” ODU said. “ODU earned the No. 4 seed in the FCS playoffs and advanced to the quarterfinals.”

ODU football finished its season 11-2 with Sophomore quarterback Taylor Heinicke winning the Walter Payton Award.
