ODU ranked 7th

After Villanova hands Monarchs their first loss

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - What a difference a loss can make. After losing to Villanova ODU fell from No. 3 ranking to No. 7 ranking in the latest national poll.

Villanova, is ranked 24th this week. After trailing by 14 early in the game, the Wildcats then scored five touchdowns against ODU's struggling defense, led by their freshman quarterback John Robertson who upstaged the Monarchs' star Taylor Heinicke.

That was Old Dominion's first loss this year, they travel to play unranked Towson on Saturday, return home to take on 25th ranked Delaware in two weeks. They  finish the season against James Madison, the Dukes replacing ODU as the No. 3 team in the country this week.
