NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Lori Coppage and Jody Winegrad have been to every home game at Scope this season, and this historica season is something both fans sensed long before anyone else.
"Gosh we knew we had something special, Jodi and I went to prospects camp," said Lori.
"So me and Lori decided we started out with prospects camp in September and we are going to the finals in Toronto and we can't wait," said Jody.
Now they don't plan on missing a single game of the finals, home or away.
"My friend and I, we were just like we would like to go to all the playoff games, we just knew when we made it to the Calder Cup we just knew all seven games we're in," said Lori.
"We are ready to go, I've been waiting to go to a finals like this for about 30 years I've been a fan of hockey in the Hampton Roads," said Winegrad.
And that 30 year wait is just a couple wins away from raising the Calder Cup.
"I went into work and I said my plane tickets are already made, they knew I was going," said Lori.
Can you blame her? This team is one for the ages. 28 wins in a row, breaking North American hockey records, raising banner after banner, and now Lori and Jody are just trying to enjoy every bit of hockey they can get, even it if means a trip north of the border.
"I can't wait for the Toronto fans to see us Admirals fans as loud was we can because they've made comments about all the arenas they've been to have been so quiet," said Jody.
And both promise that Toronto fans will know when they arrive to cheer on the Admirals.
"Oh hey we have got some diehard hockey fans here in Hampton Roads and we are going to bring the Cup back here and celebrate while you in Toronto are quiet," said Jody.
