NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - You could call it a break out performance for Old Dominion sophomore Dmitri Batten. He scored a career high 25 points yesterday in ODU's loss to Northeastern. A performance that many thought would come a lot sooner then midway through his sophomore season.
Last Year Batten had his best game against East Carolina, when he scored 18. This year his best game came Saturday against Northeastern.
He made shots like the basket in the final seconds of the gam against Northeastern, which kept the Monarchs in the game helping add to his 25 points.
His best game also came under Interim Head Coach Jim Corrigan who Batten said he likes playing for.
"He's a great guy, he's a coach that's willing to listen to you, take your advice, we take his advice and we just go with it," said Batten
Batten is averging nine points a game, but it will be interesting to see how much that number increases with the coaching change.
