VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A couple of field hockey power house schools representing Hampton Roads in this weekend's Virginia State High School League Field Hockey Championships.
Tabb trying for their fifth state title against Chancellor. In AAA two local teams playing. Defending state champs First Colonial taking on Cox.
First Colonial has won 47 of their last 48 games. Kelly Chesson started the scoring off for the Patriots. Her goal gave them an early 1-0 lead. The Patriots were up 3-0 at one point, until Cox finally found the back of the net.
First Colonial keeps their perfect record this season. They finish 25-0 and are back to back state champions. The final 3-1.
Tabb was trying for their fifth straight state championship taking a Chancellor from Fredericksburg. It took all the way until overtime for Tabb to get beat. They lost 2-1.
