RICHMOND, Va. (AP/WAVY) - An unclaimed $1 million lottery prize in Virginia Beach went unclaimed Thursday, 180 days after the drawing.

The Virginia Lottery says the prize-winning ticket for the March 31 drawing was deemed worthless when the owner failed to cash it in by 5 p.m. Sept. 27.

The ticket was sold at a Food Lion in Virginia Beach.

The winning numbers for the March 31 drawing were 5-14-36-54-58. The Powerball number for that drawing was 27. The ticket matched the first five numbers.

Unclaimed Virginia Lottery prize money goes to the Literary Fund. The Literary Fund has received more than $222 million in unclaimed prizes since the Lottery began in 1988.
