CNN - A four pound Chihuahua has taken on a new role: mother to a litter of abandoned kittens.

The kittens belonged to her owner's neighbor and needed a nursing mom. That's when Miley the chihuahua leapt into action.

The family cat--who had nursed the stray kittens only for a few days, gave up. Miley took over and feeds the kittens every hour, even growling at the family cat if she gets too close.
