Incumbents retain seats in local races

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Voters went to the polls Tuesday to select candidates to fill seats in several big races in Hampton Roads.

Polls closed at 7 p.m. and results started coming in soon after.

Norfolk Councilman Barclay Winn retained his seat in Superward Six. He faced three opponents,John Amiral, Marcus Calabrese and Jesse Scaccia.

Incumbent Angelia Williams was also reelected to Norfolk council. She ran against Sonya Smith in Superward Seven.

Chesapeake voters re-elected Mayor Alan P. Krasnoff, over candidates Burnie F. Mansfield, Jr., and Harrietta Gibbs Gibbon.

School board and city council seats were also at stake in Chesapeake Tuesday.

In Hampton, Councilman Donnie Tuck looked to unseat Mayor Molly Ward, but she won the race with 65 percent of the votes. Tuck will keep his council seat. Hampton voters also selected school board and city council members.
