PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - A warrant is out for the arrest of 47-year-old Wendy Sue Sullivan in connection with a January homicide.

Pamela Abrahams, 49, died after suffering a head injury during a dispute in the 1600 block of City Park Avenue in Portsmouth. According to police, at around 1 a.m. on January 1, Abrahams and two of her neighbors were socializing. At some point, the victim fell to the ground and possibly hit her head on the sidewalk. She later died at the hospital.

Abrahams' family has said all along that they knew who was responsible for her death. Now, police say it was Wendy Sue Sullivan. A Grand Jury heard evidence in the case on February 2 and returned an indictment charging Sullivan with involuntary manslaugher.

Court records reveal that Sullivan pleaded guilty to manslaughter in Mecklenburg, Va. six years ago.

"This is no accident and I just want that to be known," Abrahams' son, Winfred Ferrell, said. "The surgeon and the doctors that treated my mother said this was the worst head injury they have ever seen."

Sullivan is now wanted by police.

Ferrell told WAVY.com Sullivan got an attorney and was going to turn herself in,  but he's not sure he believes that. The Portsmouth Commonwealth's Attorney's Office said it is true; she has agreed to turn herself in on Feb. 7. A bond hearing is set for Feb. 8. They are giving her this time because they do not consider her a flight risk.
