DARE COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - Crews are scheduled to began repairing the Bonner Bridge starting Tuesday, Sept. 25.
The repairs will help protect the bridge against sand erosion. Certified divers will place sand bags and wire baskets filled with rocks on the inlet floor to protect the sand, according to North Carolina Department of Transportations' Dara Demi.
Temporary lane closures to allow crews to deliver materials to the barges may cause traffic delays. The project is scheduled to be finished by Dec. 1.
