RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Crews from the N.C. Department of Transportation are set to survey damage to any additional damage to N.C. Highway 12 stemming from the nor'easter that formed off the coast.
The crews will begin fully assessing the damage from the nor'easter Thursday morning. Once the assessment is complete, the department says it will have a better idea of the extent of the damage the storm caused and how it will affect the completion of the repairs already under way.
N.C. 12 was damaged by Superstorm Sandy and repairs had begun when the latest storm came through.
The nor'easter brought rain, wind and flooding Wednesday to parts of the Outer Banks already hard hit by Sandy, and likely caused additional damage along N.C. 12 in Dare County.
