MOYOCK, N.C. (WAVY) - Currituck County fire investigators have confirmed one person has died, following a fire at a Moyock home Tuesday afternoon.

Crews arrived quickly with several tanker trucks, to beat back the fire inside the trailer home.

"I really want to know what happened," said neighbor Chris Wells.

According to fire spokesman Randall Edwards, crews were called to 108 Moon Ct. just after 1 p.m. About an hour later, they confirmed one fatality at the home in Carolina Village.

Neighbors pulled a lifeless man out of the smoke-filled home. Wells said the man was Bill Clark, a neighbor he has known for years. "I don't know what to think. He's the guy I go hunting with. It's just a shock," expressed Wells.

Details on the cause of death or the cause of the fire are unknown at this time.

Neighbors said Clark leaves behind a wife, and several children and grandchildren.
