RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - State and federal emergency officials are reminding North Carolina residents that help is available to victims of Hurricane Irene , even if they also got assistance following the tornadoes in April and the flooding from the remnants of Tropical Storm Nicole last year.

A dozen counties included in the disaster declaration following Hurricane Irene also were declared disasters after the April tornadoes. They are: Bertie, Craven, Currituck, Greene, Halifax, Hertford, Johnston, Onslow, Pitt, Sampson, Tyrrell and Wilson counties.

Fourteen counties affected by Irene also were declared disasters after Tropical Storm Nicole in September 2010. They are: Beaufort, Bertie, Brunswick, Camden, Craven, Hertford, Jones, Martin, New Hanover, Onslow, Pender, Pitt, Tyrrell and Washington.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency says help is available for people affected by any of those natural disasters.
