DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) - Officials say a Tuesday morning bomb threat at the Dare County Justice Center was unfounded and no suspects have been identified yet.
According to Chief Deputy Steve Hoggard with the Dare County Sheriff's Office, a local attorney's office was contacted just after 10 a.m. with a phone call indicated an explosive device inside of the building.
The Sheriff's Office and the District Courts evacuated and a bomb-sniffing dog checked the building for explosives.
The parking lot was also sealed for searches when one dog alerted police to a vehicle parked outside. After searching the car and the lot with the help of Norfolk;s Bomb Squad, no explosives were found.
The case remains under investigation.
