MOYOCK, N.C. (AP) - Two juveniles have been arrested and charged in Moyock, N.C., in connection with as many as 29 incidents of breaking an entering in homes and vehicles, according to police.
Zakem Rahmere Clinton, 17, and an unnamed juvenile were arrested for the breaking and entering and larceny cases in the Eagle Creek neighborhood. Nine cars were reportedly broken into, 18 residences and two other locations, according to police.
The Currituck Sheriff's Office was conducting an undercover operation early Wednesday morning to catch the alleged larceny suspects with a bait vehicle. Deputies used nightvision to observe the suspects and followed them back to their residence.
Once at the residence, additional evidence was found providing sufficient evidence to obtain a search warrant. Deputies discovered 11 GPS units, eight car chargers, 14 pair of sunglasses, as well as numerous other devices.
Rahmere and the second suspect are being held on $7,500 bond.
