NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A civilian contracted diver died while conducting dive operations on USS WASP Friday morning, according to the U.S. Navy.
Terry Davis with the Navy said the diver was conducting the operations at Pier 10 at Naval Station Norfolk shortly before 11 a.m.
The diver’s cause of death is undetermined, Davis added.
Further details including the diver’s identity or gender have not been released at this time. Davis said the diver’s family is being notified.
