NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - The Medical Examiner's Office has ruled the death of 57-year-old Mary McLean to be an accident, due to drowning.
McLean's body was found floating behind The Alley nightclub off Mercury Boulevard the evening of August 25. A person spotted the body and called police.
On Oct. 9, police released the results of an autopsy, which revealed McLean drowned. There was no foul play involved in her death.
