VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - The annual David Wright Vegas Night to help the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters raised $144,000 Jan. 18, surpassing the 2012 total.
New York Mets player and Hampton Roads native David Wright hosted the annual event, which is in its third year. More than 300 people attended the event.
The event raised $136,000 in 2012.
The Fox 43 TV/WAVY News 10 sponsored event was held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. During the event, Wright honored FOX 43/WAVY News 10 General Manager Doug Davis with a certificate of appreciation.
The money raised at the event will help CHKD stay on the cutting edge of medical technology and make sure more kids in Hampton Roads can use their services.
