Man charged in VB triple stabbing

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A Norfolk man is dead and two others are injured after a stabbing at a Virginia Beach apartment complex early Sunday morning.

Police were called to the Waypoint at Bayville Apartments in the 5100 block of Venture Court at 3:16 a.m.

Neighbors at the apartment complex say the commotion started during a party at a second-floor apartment. They say a woman at the party got into a fight with her boyfriend, who was in a car in the parking lot.

Neighbors say others from the party came to the woman's defense, and that's when the suspect stabbed three victims. Neighbors say there was blood on the grass outside the apartment and on the staircase.

Police say 20-year-old Joseph Brinkos of Norfolk was stabbed and later died at the hospital.

A second victim is listed in critical, but stable condition while a third was treated and released from the hospital, according to Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department.

Police identify the suspect as 28-year-old Joshua Daniel Campbell of the 1300 block of Balview Avenue in Norfolk. Campbell is charged with Second Degree Murder, One count of Aggravated Assault and One count of Malicious Assault.

Campbell is being held without bond in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center.
