VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Hundreds gathered Wednesday to honor the memories of five fellow high school students who lost their lives during the past year.

The teens who passed lost their lives in different ways, but each of them was equally honored at Kellam High School's football stadium.

Those in attendance took five laps around the stadium, one for each life lost.

"It just makes you think a lot. You see everybody in school, their demeanor just goes down and down... stuff like this helps bring it up," Kellam High School student Bobby Bernhard said.
