VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Officials say an elementary school bus accident was reported in Virginia Beach shortly after 3 p.m. Monday afternoon.
Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department says the crash was reported at 3:23 p.m. at 717 S. Military Highway and two cars were towed from the scene.
According to Lauren Wicks with Virginia Beach Schools, school bus 416 was carrying 10 children from Woodstock Elementary on board when the accident occurred.
Moyers says a child approximately 9 years old reported leg pain, but it is not known whether or not the child was a passenger in the bus or in another vehicle involved in the accident. A woman in her 50s was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Moyers.
Wicks says all parents were notified by the school's principal who is on scene of the crash.
Moyers says traffic was moving back to normal shortly after 5 p.m.
