The center's museum exhibits debuted at the grand opening.

The center has been open since last spring. It also has a gift shop, information desk and rentable meeting rooms.

The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation says First Landing is the most visited state park in Virginia. The park in Virginia Beach was built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps.
