VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach Police need help finding a man they believe is endangered because he cannot walk or speak.
Jimmy Barnes, spokesman for the Virginia Beach Police Department, said police were searching for 52-year-old Carlton Edmunds who was reported missing at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Barnes said a family member reported Edmunds missing from a medical building at 1725 Laskin Road in the Hilltop area.
Edmunds was last seen sitting in his wheelchair outside the building at 11 a.m. waiting for his wife to pick him up. Around that time, a man in a wheelchair was seen at the intersection of Laskin Road and Village Drive getting into a small silver car.
Police believe that man was Edmunds and are asking for anyone with information to call police dispatch at 757-385-5000.
Edmunds is described as a black male standing 6’ and weighing 190 pounds. He was wearing jean shorts, a striped shirt and a khaki cap. Barnes said Edmunds cannot walk or communicate as a result of a stroke.
