VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Brookwood Elementary School was placed on lockdown, along with Plaza annex offices, as police searched for home invasion suspects according to a spokesperson with Virginia Beach City Schools.
The lockdown lasted approximately 30 minutes.
Grazia Moyers with Virginia Beach Police says the home invasion occurred around 10:49 a.m. in the 3100 block of Ashlawn Terrace in the Carriage Hill section of the city.
A man who identified himself as a victim, but didn't want to give his name, spoke to 10 On Your Side's Stephanie Harris about the event. He said that around 10:30 a.m., someone came to his door and put a gun to his head demanding money. The victim's said a 3-year-old was next to him at the time, and his brother was inside on the couch. The victim says another suspect then entered the house and pointed a gun at the man on the couch. The two victims were told to close their eyes as the suspects searched the house for three minutes, according to the victim.
The victim says he doesn't know what or how much was taken from the home.
While police have not confirmed the information above, they confirm that they are looking for two suspects in connection to the crime. No other information has been released by police at this time.
No injuries have been reported.
