VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach Police say a car found submerged on Bonney Road in Virginia Beach Wednesday afternoon was stolen.
Jimmy Barnes with Virginia Beach Police told WAVY.com Wednesday officers responded to 4429 Bonney Road to investigate a report of a vehicle submerged in a body of water. According to witnesses on scene, the car appeared to have been submerged for some time and has what looks like moss on it.
Barnes added the vehicle is showing because water is receding.
Around 3 p.m. Wednesday, Barnes told WAVY.com the car looked to be stolen and at first inspection did not appear to have anyone in it.
