VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Investigators have ruled an early morning fire at a condemned house in Virginia Beach suspicious.
Battalion Chief Tim Riley with the Virginia Beach Fire Department told WAVY.com the fire sparked on a detached garage at an unoccupied home which then spread to the house. Dispatchers confirmed the fire occurred in the 100 block of Air Station Drive around 3:15 a.m.
According to Riley, the home had been previously condemned because of “structural instability.”
The fire has been ruled suspicious in nature and an investigation has been launched.
Anyone with information should contact the Virginia Beach Fire Department.
