VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - An accident on Interstate 264 shut down all inner westbound lanes, and traffic was rerouted to the Military Highway exit early Wednesday evening.

The crash occurred around 8 p.m. and it remains unknown at this time how many vehicles were involved. Traffic cameras from the Virginia Department of Transportation showed several emergency vehicles, including fire trucks and ambulances, on scene.

Officials have not said if anyone was injured in the crash.

All lanes of Interstate 264 reopened to traffic about 20 minutes later.
